Hotel Maya, Long Beach’s waterfront hotel, will transition to an independent boutique lifestyle hotel, effective April 1. Hotel Maya is ending its affiliation with Hilton.
This transformation coincides with Hotel Maya’s 50th Anniversary, celebrating its legacy since opening in 1975 while embarking on a multi-million dollar renovation to the waterfront property.
“This is a milestone moment for Hotel Maya as we celebrate our golden anniversary and step into the future as an independent lifestyle hotel,” General Manager Greg Guthrie said in a statement. “After years of success under Hilton, we’re excited to evolve while preserving the unique character that makes Hotel Maya a cherished Long Beach Destination.”
Hotel Maya will position itself where "Classic Long Beach Charm Meets Modern Mayan Luxury.” The hotel’s owners are making a multi-million-dollar investment to enhance Hotel Maya’s distinctive style. Updates include a refreshed lobby, restaurant, upgraded amenities, additional suites and a modern redesign of all guestrooms. Hotel Maya is Long Beach’s only waterfront boutique hotel with full ocean views.
Fuego, the hotel’s restaurant, will introduce a new menu with Latin-inspired dishes. Guests will still have access to waterfront activities such as jet ski rentals, Can-Am Ryker bikes and boat rentals. The property features a poolside lounge, private cabanas and fire pits for evening relaxation. Playa at the Maya, a beach-inspired area with sand, daybeds and umbrellas, will remain a key part of the experience.
