Cobblestone Hotels recently held a groundbreaking in Monte Vista for a hotel poised to become part of the company’s Main Street collection. The new four story, 62-room Cobblestone Hotel & Suites will represent the midscale brand’s 10th property in the state of Colorado. The downtown property will be managed by Slate Hospitality Group and is being constructed by Brimark Builders. The hotel will belong to Cobblestone’s Main Street product, which aims to highlight modern design elements and incorporate local history into multiple facets of the building.
Jeremy Griesbach, president of development for Cobblestone Hotels, thanked the community of Monte Vista for being home to the company’s first Main Street project in the state. “We do appreciate everything everybody has done. It doesn’t happen without you,” Griesbach said in a statement.
The groundbreaking ceremony had speakers from various local organizations, such as the City of Monte Vista, RG Bank and the local investment group. Members of the Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce were also present for the event. Dale Becker, Mayor of the city of Monte Vista, applauded the dedication demonstrated by the city, as well as the local investors who helped make the project come to fruition. “We see what we can do when we become a community of believers and a community with lot of faith,” he said.
The hotel will have the brand’s signature amenities such as Seattle’s Best Coffee service, high-speed Internet access and a complimentary breakfast each morning. Guestrooms will be equipped with flat-panel televisions, microwaves, refrigerators and in-room personal coffee brewers.
This hotel—which is in close proximity to the event center Ski Hi Complex and event center— will also host an onsite lounge, business center, indoor swimming pool, onsite fitness center and onsite convenience store.
