McKibbon bolsters board of directors with addition of 5 execs

McKibbon has bolstered its board of directors with the addition of five executive leaders for the Tampa-based company’s four verticals, including its management arm McKibbon Hospitality.

The new board members include McKibbon Hospitality CEO Randy Hassen; McKibbon Hospitality president Bruce Baerwalde; McKibbon Equities president J.B. McKibbon, IV; McKibbon Hotel Group president and CFO Joe Taggart; and McKibbon Places president Erik Rowen.

The newly inducted board members join Chairman John McKibbon, CEO Emeritus Vann Herring, CFO emeritus David Hughs, as well as Dr. Tom Smiley and Gaines Sturdivant, and will be charged with steering decision-making on potential new markets for hotel management and development, expansion or contraction of existing markets, new partnerships and acquisition opportunities. The executives will also be asked to provide strategic guidance and oversight of the company’s four main subsidiaries: McKibbon Hospitality, McKibbon Equities, McKibbon Hotel Group, and McKibbon Places.

McKibbon Hospitality operates a portfolio of nearly 100 hotels across Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG and Kimpton brand flags, as well as 10 independent restaurants, for more than 20 third-party ownership groups.

Led by fourth-generation hospitality leader and president, J.B. McKibbon, IV, McKibbon Equities is dedicated to new development and asset management of McKibbon-owned properties, including hotels, independent restaurant concepts, vacation rentals, office buildings and parking decks, as well as the McKibbon Family Investment Fund.  

The finance and investments arm of McKibbon, McKibbon Hotel Group manages accounting, cash management, insurance, property and income tax, partnership owned finance, financial audits and general counsel for all McKibbon entities, including hotel development, management, renovations and more.

Lastly, the McKibbon company dedicated to new hotel development and renovations management, McKibbon Places partners with third-party owners, investors, and trusted vendors on new build projects as well as ongoing renovations of existing hotels. They also provide project management services for other types of real estate.
