Remington expands CALA division with new appointments

Remington Hospitality has made two leadership appointments to support the strategic growth of its Caribbean and Latin America division.

Matthew Grauso joins Remington as vice president of operations – Caribbean, while Benito Benitez has been promoted to vice president of operations – Latin America. These appointments reflect Remington's continued investment in the region and its commitment to delivering operationally focused, results-driven leadership to its owners and partners across the region.

"As we continue to grow our presence across the Caribbean and Latin America, we must bring in proven leaders who understand the unique dynamics of these high-demand resort and urban markets," Remington CEO Ben Perelmuter said in a statement. "Both Matthew and Benito are seasoned operators with the expertise, discipline, and regional knowledge to drive exceptional results."

Grauso brings nearly three decades of experience in resort and luxury hotel operations, with 23 years dedicated to Hawaii, specifically on the islands of Maui, Oahu and The Big Island. He played a pivotal role in the construction, development, and pre-opening phases, driving the successful launch and strategic repositioning of properties as market leaders across renowned hospitality companies, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International and Highgate Hotels.

Previously, he served as general manager of the 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, where he led the resort's re-concepting into a premier luxury lifestyle destination and The Sheraton Kona Resort, achieving a robust financial scorecard and strengthening the property's reputation in the market to best in class.  His ability to elevate independent and branded properties alike underscores his deep operational expertise across diverse hospitality segments. Throughout his career, Grauso's focus on associate engagement, performance management, and customer experience has consistently translated into strong owner relations, operational excellence, financial performance, and robust community relations.

Benitez, who has been with Remington since 2019, has played an instrumental role in supporting the company's growth across Mexico and Latin America. Benitez has held senior operational roles across a variety of branded and independent properties throughout the CALA region. His promotion reflects a track record of operational excellence and strong owner relationships, along with a hands-on leadership style that has elevated performance across the portfolio.

"These are two high-caliber leaders with deep operational expertise and a clear understanding of what it takes to perform in diverse markets," said Jason Kreul, chief operating officer, Remington Hospitality. Matthew's extensive resort background, paired with Benito's deep regional knowledge and success within our organization, gives us a powerful team to strengthen our execution and enhance value for owners across CALA. As demand across the Caribbean and Latin America continues to accelerate, Matthew and Benito will position us to not only meet owner expectations—but to exceed them."
