Ruby Group promotes chief growth officer

The Ruby Group promotes Fabian Zellinger to the position of chief growth and innovation officer, following the firm’s acquisition by IHG Hotels & Resorts earlier this year.

Zellinger has been with the Ruby Group for more than six years and is a member of the executive board. In his new role, he takes over leadership of all growth-related and technical departments, including the responsibilities previously held by Isabell Fuss, who is leaving the company to pursue new professional opportunities.

Zellinger will continue to oversee his existing areas of corporate development, systems, new ventures and workspaces.

The move supports Ruby Group’s continued growth trajectory across Europe and lays the foundation for expansion into new global markets, including the United States.

“This is a vital step in strengthening our leadership and structure for Ruby’s next growth phase," Michael Struck, CEO and founder of the Ruby Group, said in a statement. "With Fabian Zellinger taking on his new role, we are well positioned to continue our expansion across Europe and into new international markets. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Isabell Fuss for her outstanding contribution and unwavering dedication. She helped shape the foundation of our success, and we wish her all the very best for her next chapter.”

In February, IHG Hotels & Resorts acquired Ruby Hotels for $116 million, with plans to significantly ramp up the global expansion of the lifestyle brand. The ‘lean luxury’ Munich-based Ruby brand marks the 20th brand to come into the IHG portfolio.
