Salamander Collection names new SVP of operations

Salamander Collection has appointed George Terpilowski as its new senior vice president of operations.

Most recently, Terpilowski was general manager of Intercontinental Buckhead, Atlanta. He also was regional vice president Northeast with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, which included oversight of Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston, Boston Raffles and The Plaza Hotel in New York.

“George has an outstanding background in luxury operations with acclaimed independent and branded gateway city and resort properties” Salamander Collection President Prem Devadas said in a statement. “His leadership style will complement Salamander’s unique approach toward luxury, while his experience will allow us to continue to deliver results and enhance our growing reputation as a hospitality partner of choice.”  

In his new role, Terpilowski is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hotels and resorts within the company’s portfolio, for maintaining Salamander’s service quality and ensuring the company’s goals are achieved through increased profitability.

Terpilowski has previously was managing director and regional vice president of Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda with oversight of Hamilton Princess Bermuda, Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico and Royal Pavillion in Barbados; general manager of Fairmont Washington D.C., Georgetown; and general manager of The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Va. His career began with Grand Heritage Hotels, where he oversaw The Brazilian Court in Palm Beach, Fla.; Union Station Nashville; and The Clift Hotel San Francisco.
