Three hotels and a hospitality company have appointed sales and marketing leaders in recent weeks. Here are some names to know.
The Compton
The Compton, a new independent lifestyle hotel set to open on the historic square of Bentonville, Ark., this fall, appointed Emily Reynolds as the founding director of sales and marketing.
In her most recent role at Phoenix American Hospitality, she oversaw sales and revenue strategy for six hotels throughout Arkansas and Louisiana, generating more than $31 million in annual revenue and leading a cross-functional team spanning sales, marketing and operations. Throughout her career, she has built and mentored top-performing teams at Aimbridge Hospitality, Lodgestar Investments and Westmont Hospitality Group. Reynolds’ appointment marks the first key hire for The Compton, which is being developed by Blue Crane and managed by Practice Hospitality.
Hilton Anatole
The Hilton Anatole in Dallas appointed Mike Kovensky director of sales and marketing.
Kovensky joins the Hilton Anatole team with more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Before joining the Anatole, Kovensky held several senior leadership roles at Hilton properties across the country.
La Peer
La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif., appointed Larry Bryant director of sales and marketing.
Most recently, Bryant was director of global sales at citizenM hotels, where he directed the sales strategy and managed a global strategic account portfolio, driving $10M in contract renewals within a single year. Prior to that, Bryant held senior sales manager positions at top Los Angeles-based hospitality brands and hotels, such as Thompson Hollywood, Tommie Hollywood, Mondrian and Dream Hollywood.
Sandos Hotels & Resorts
All-inclusive hospitality brand Sandos Hotels & Resorts appointed Javier Polanco its new corporate director of sales. Polanco’s career ranges from working with brands like Expedia to holding leadership roles at properties throughout Riviera Maya. Most recently, he was Palladium Hotel Group’s country sales and marketing director, where he spearheaded the company’s commercial strategies for their Mexico portfolio. Before that, he led the e-commerce division and OTA operations at Haven Riviera Cancun.
Over the course of his 13 years with the brand, Polanco also played a pivotal role at Expedia, Inc., managing key hotel partnerships with top international chains, specifically in the Mexican and Caribbean, for the leading influential tech platform. He spent his early career working with Meliá Hotels International, where he held multiple senior roles, such as director of e-commerce & distribution for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean and commercial director for group sales and leisure travel.
