Westin hotels and others appoint sales, marketing leaders

A number of hotels—including two members of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio soft brand and two Westins—have appointed sales and marketing leaders in recent weeks. 

The Alida, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The Alida, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Savannah, Ga., appointed Ryan Cornelius director of sales and marketing. 

Cornelius joined The Alida in 2022 and was senior sales manager for three years before being appointed director of sales and marketing. He also held various management positions with leading hotel brands and golf clubs across the southeast, including Delta Hotels by Marriott in Chesapeake, Va., and Heritage Golf Collection in Hilton Head, S.C., as well as the Four Points by Sheraton, Doubletree Hotel and Hilton Garden Inn, all in Historic Savannah. 

Hilton Barbados Resort

Hilton Barbados Resort appointed Annmarie Thompson as its new director of sales and marketing. 

Thompson's distinguished career spans leadership roles at renowned luxury resorts and corporate hotels, including AC Hotel Marriott in Kingston and The Crane Resort & Residences in Barbados, now a Hilton Grand Vacations-affiliated property, as well as other operational, public relations and marketing roles. 

Hotel Landy, a Tribute Portfolio hotel

Hotel Landy, a Tribute Portfolio hotel and Universal Partner hotel in Orlando, appointed Dan Sullivan senior sales manager. Sullivan has worked in Central Florida's hospitality scene for more than two and a half decades, most recently as destination sales executive with Marriott International at the Sheraton Orlando LBV. He also worked at the Villas of Grand Cypress and Caribe Royale Resort. 

Sullivan held dual appointments at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate both as national sales manager and as director of sales & marketing for the property's golf club.

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions - Wisconsin Dells

Kalahari Resorts and Conventions promoted two associates at its Wisconsin Dells resort: Joey Greeno is the new director of sales and Kortnee Carroll is assistant director of sales.

Greeno joined Kalahari more than 20 years ago as a senior sales manager before working as assistant director of sales for more than a decade. Carroll has been with Kalahari since 2021.

The Ritz-Carlton, Denver

The Ritz-Carlton, Denver appointed Alexia (Lexi) Zambrano as its new marketing manager. 

Zambrano's career in the hospitality industry began in 2017 with Marriott International at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch as a vacation planner and subsequently as a marketing coordinator. She transitioned to the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in 2019. During her tenure at Gaylord Rockies, Zambrano held positions of marketing coordinator and marketing manager. She then stepped into the group marketing manager role on the Gaylord Hotels Brand Marketing and Creative team.

Thompson Miami Beach

Thompson Miami Beach, set to open in summer on Washington Avenue, appointed Iris Acosta-Zobel director of sales and marketing.

Acosta-Zobel has spent more than 25 years driving business growth for luxury hotels in Miami. As the founder of IAZ Hospitality Advisors, she provided consulting services for independent hotels and destinations. Before that, she was vice president of sales for the Cipriani-family portfolio of luxury boutique properties Mr. C Hotels and Casa Cipriani. She also worked with W Hotels, the Nobu Eden Roc Miami Beach, Mondrian and others. 

The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa appointed Annette Rullman senior sales manager. 

Rullman brings 19 years of Marriott sales experience to The Westin Grand Cayman where she worked across all brands within the portfolio. Over the past nine years, Rullman focused primarily on market and account management for Marriott premium and luxury hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America markets. 

Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Avon

The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Avon, Vail Valley hired Justin Chesney as director of sales.  

Chesney previously was the director of meetings and special events planning at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. He also held senior sales and events positions at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain and The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas. A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Chesney is a Certified Meeting Professional and serves as the chair of the Cultural, Arts and Special Events Committee for the Town of Avon and board president for Mountain Pride, which serves the needs of the Vail Valley LGBTQIA+ community.
