Hunter to host Mark Hoplamazian for fireside chat

Mark Hoplamazian, president and CEO of Hyatt Hotels, will take the stage for a fireside chat interview with Greg Friedman, managing principal and CEO of Peachtree Group, during the Hunter Hotel Investment Conference later this month.

Last year, Hunter introduced this fireside chat format with Tony Capuano, CEO of Marriott International, as the featured guest. This year, Hoplamazian will share insights into his journey in hospitality and the leadership principles that drive Hyatt. He will discuss what sets Hyatt apart in a competitive market, his vision for the future and the innovations shaping the industry.

“At Hyatt, business is personal—relationships, trust and a deep understanding of our guests, customers and owners are at the heart of everything we do,” Hoplamazian said in a statement. “In today’s competitive landscape, hotel performance is driven by the human connections that shape our industry. That’s why we collaborate closely with owners and operators like Peachtree Group to create long-term value for their investments.”

Hoplamazian was appointed to the Hyatt Hotels Corporation board of directors in November 2006 and named president and chief executive officer in December 2006. Before taking on his current role, he served as president of The Pritzker Organization, LLC, the principal financial and investment advisor to certain Pritzker family business interests. During his 17-year tenure with TPO, he advised various Pritzker family-owned companies, including Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Prior to that, he worked in international mergers and acquisitions at The First Boston Corporation in New York.

“Hunter has always been an essential gathering place for industry leaders to engage in meaningful discussions shaping hospitality's future," Friedman said. "Having the opportunity to sit down with Mark and explore Hyatt's strategic vision, its differentiation in the market and the broader industry trends will be invaluable for attendees. This conversation will provide unique insights into how ownership and brand strategies align in today's evolving landscape.”

Hoplamazian also serves on several boards and committees, including the executive committee of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the executive committee of the World Travel & Tourism Council. Additionally, he is a member of the civic committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago and serves as co-chair of the Committee’s Public Safety Task Force.

Hoplamazian and Friedman will take the main stage at 12:20 p.m. on March 19.
