Hyatt’s Andaz brand makes Florida debut with Miami Beach hotel

Hyatt Hotels' luxury Andaz brand has made its debut in Florida with the conversion of a long-time Miami Beach hotel. Operating as part of the newly formed Hyatt Lifestyle Group, Andaz Miami Beach—which was formerly The Confidante Miami Beach— has 287 guestrooms, including 64 suites with views of the ocean or the Miami skyline. The hotel also has two heated outdoor pools with private cabanas, a spa, a members’ beach club and three dining concepts curated by the José Andrés Group.

“It’s a place you want to take your shoes off and never leave,” Amar Lalvani, president and creative director of Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group, said in a statement. “The setting is perfect, the feeling is effortlessly cool, the music is always just right, and with José Andrés involved, you know the food and drink will be on point.”

Designed by EoA Group and the Hyatt Lifestyle Group’s in-house design team, Andaz Miami Beach was designed to capture the graceful flow of the ocean, where undulating curves replace hard lines, according to the company. Hues of aqua, mint, turquoise and sage look to pay tribute to Miami’s Art Deco past.

The hotel also features an elevated lobby that includes ocean views. In line with Andaz brand standards, there is no check in desk as each guest is seated and personally welcomed with a cocktail.

Guestrooms are designed to be spacious, simple and bright with private terraces and sweeping views, while the color palette is inspired by the sea, according to the company. The company further noted that suites have expansive layouts—many of which feature connecting rooms for added flexibility—cozy dining nooks and deep soaking tubs.

With 25,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach is designed to host large celebrations to intimate gatherings, according to the company. Two oceanfront ballrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows are designed to provide views of the Atlantic, and seven meeting rooms accommodate breakout sessions, board meetings and celebrations.

Opening next month, the hotel’s Ondara Spa is located on the fourth-floor terrace, where a relaxation lounge overlooks the Atlantic with a menu featuring pre-event preparation, advanced skincare and touchless therapies.
