In partnership with Universal Orlando, Loews Hotels & Co. has expanded its portfolio in the city and theme park with the opening of the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel.
The hotel brand company—which is also co-owner and operator of the hotel portfolio at Universal Orlando Resort—opened the hotel in advance of guest previews at Universal Epic Universe beginning today. This property is one of three new hotels from Loews Hotels debuting this year at the theme park destination, including Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort, which opened in January and March, respectively.
“Today marks another major milestone for Loews Hotels & Co as we celebrate the growth and evolution of our partnership with Comcast NBC Universal, with the opening of our 11th hotel on the ever-expanding Universal Orlando campus,” said Alex Tisch, President & CEO, Loews Hotels & Co, in a statement. “Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel will be a one-of-kind hotel not just because of its proximity to Epic Universe, but also due to the unique guest experience value proposition that, when coupled with Loews’ service excellence, will continue creating exceptional experiences for guests, team members and neighbors.”
The opening of Helios Grand Hotel brings the company’s Orlando hotel portfolio to a total of 11 hotels and 11,000 guest rooms. The joint venture partnership between Loews Hotels & Co and Universal Orlando now spans more than 25 years. This year marks the largest expansion ever for the destination.
Located steps from Epic Universe, the 500-room hotel is the newest addition to the destination’s Signature Collection hotel category.
Amenities include a rooftop bar, resort-style pool, poolside cabanas and a dedicated entrance to Universal Epic Universe that is accessible from the hotel lobby.
The hotel’s guestrooms are designed to evoke a garden with many rooms offering views of Epic Universe. The Court of the Sun, located off the lobby, is a terrace perched over waterfalls including a statue of Apollo.
Dining options throughout the hotel include Bar Helios, a rooftop venue; Flora Taverna, a full-service restaurant; Lotus Lagoon, the poolside bar and grill; Aurora Market, a coffee shop and market; as well as dedicated indoor rooftop event space.
