Columbia Hospitality adds Oregon hotel

Hospitality management and consulting company Columbia Hospitality is expanding its presence in Oregon with its largest hotel to date joining the portfolio: Valley River Inn in Eugene, Ore.

Valley River Inn has 259 guestrooms and suites, many of which have patios or balconies overlooking the Willamette River. The property is a historic hotel, and was constructed with a nod to the area's logging history with original timber creating a lodge-like ambiance.

The rooms were fully renovated in 2024 with modern amenities, local art, wood furniture and bedding. With the renovation and redesign, the property preserved special elements, including the chandelier in the lobby, brickwork from the 1970s and the beams.

The hotel's signature restaurant, Sweet Waters on the River, has a seasonal menu with a fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows with a panoramic view of the river and an outdoor patio. The property also has more than 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The hotel is a short distance from Downtown Eugene, the University of Oregon, Autzen Stadium (home of 2024 Big Ten Champions Oregon Ducks), Hayward Field (a track and field facility that hosted the last three consecutive U.S. Olympic Trials), plus local wineries and breweries.
