Placemakr launches pop-up hotel in Washington, D.C.

Placemakr launches Placemakr Buzzard Point. The new pop-up hotel is located at The Stacks, a nearly 7-acre waterfront development in D.C.'s growing Buzzard Point neighborhood. The apartment-hotel will be available for nightly, weekly and monthly stays beginning for a limited time.

The Stacks is jointly owned by Akridge, Bridge Investment Group, Blue Coast Capital, and National Real Estate Advisors. It is being co-developed by Akridge and National Real Estate Development.

Placemakr Buzzard Point will have over 120 fully furnished studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units with waterfront and monument views of D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The neighborhood has a selection of shops, restaurants and more. Situated one block from Audi Field and in close proximity to Nationals Park, the apartment-hotel has a vibrant community hub for sports fans and athletes alike. It is also adjacent to Fort McNair and near Washington Navy Yard.

The apartment-hotel is located within The Byron, a building professionally managed by Greystar that provides a well-crafted living experience with airy interiors and curated community amenities. With over 23,000 square feet of lobby and amenity space, guests have access to a range of thoughtfully designed features. The recently opened 10,000-square-foot FLEX gym offers a cold plunge, sauna, recovery room, and outdoor workout spaces. On the penthouse level, guests can enjoy a multisport simulator, sleek coworking and lounge areas, a game room with billiards, and indoor and outdoor terraces with firepits, creating a dynamic and inviting environment for work, play, and relaxation.

"The growth of the Capitol Riverfront in Southwest DC is something that's been a long time coming," Jason Fudin, CEO and co-founder of Placemakr, said in a statement. "We're excited to be a part of this dynamic neighborhood alongside our partners Akridge, BCCAP, Bridge, and National."
