Sage Hospitality partners with CL Hotels

Sage Hospitality Group has partnered with Miami-based CL Hotels, a hotel ownership and investment group with more than 20 years of experience acquiring and managing real estate investments. The partnership brings three lifestyle hotels into the Sage management portfolio: Hotel La Jolla (San Diego), The Coachman Hotel (Lake Tahoe, Calif.) and Circa 39 Hotel (Miami Beach, Fla.).This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between the two organizations.

With this partnership, Sage continues to expand its footprint in both Florida and California and showcases its expertise in experiential hospitality in sought-after resort destinations. Hotel La Jolla and The Coachman will be joining a number of California hotels in Sage’s portfolio, including Hotel Per La, The Pierside Hotel and The Lodge at Sonoma. Circa 39 represents a growing focus on the Southeastern U.S. for Sage, following the investment in One Ocean Resort in 2024 and the addition of The Ann Savannah and Hotel De La Poste in New Orleans earlier this year.

Sage will oversee all operations at three hotels, with support from Sage Restaurant Concepts, its culinary arm, on food and beverage operations at Hotel La Jolla and The Coachman Hotel. Details about the hotels include:

  • Hotel La Jolla, A Curio Collection Hotel: Originally opened in 1972 and reimagined in 2024, Hotel La Jolla is a 110-room coastal retreat located in San Diego. Following a multi-million-dollar renovation, the hotel now has refreshed guestrooms, expansive event space and two distinct dining concepts: Sea & Sky, a rooftop destination offering ocean-inspired cuisine, and Hiatus Lounge, an open-air bar perfect for relaxed gatherings. The hotel is known for its views of the Pacific, proximity to La Jolla’s attractions and amenities like beach cruiser rentals and bespoke bath products.
  • The Coachman Hotel: The Coachman is a 104-room boutique hotel in South Lake Tahoe that blends modern design with mountain-town charm. With access to Lake Tahoe’s year-round recreation, the hotel has community-focused spaces like an outdoor pool, fire pits, and a café-bar serving local coffee, craft beers and signature cocktails. Designed for adventure seekers and laid-back travelers, The Coachman is a pet-friendly getaway that fosters a sense of connection with the stunning natural setting, including Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Mountain Resort, just minutes away.
  • Circa 39 Hotel: Located in Miami Beach, Circa 39 is a vibrant 97-room hotel known for its eclectic spirit and tropical aesthetic. The property celebrates its beachy setting with a relaxed and colorful lobby complemented by lush courtyards, a swimming pool, a full restaurant and beach service for guests. Circa 39 captures the energy of Miami Beach while offering a more intimate and welcoming alternative to larger resorts. As part of its long-term vision for the property, CL Hotels is undertaking a multimillion-dollar renovation and rebranding, with Circa 39 set to join the Vignette Collection by IHG.
