The Highland Dallas—reportedly the first property to be part of Hilton’s Curio Collection—has completed a renovation encompassing the hotel’s guestrooms, lobby and public spaces.
The renovation—which was led by interior design firm BAMO—was designed to honor the property’s roots while carving a bold design-forward future. The reintroduction of the hotel is both a nod to its legacy and a step into the future as Dallas undergoes a luxury and lifestyle renaissance of its own, according to the company.
“We wanted this renovation to reflect not just where Dallas is going, but what made The Highland so iconic to begin with,” Dina VanderVeen (Marinelli), project designer at BAMO, said in a statement. “The result is a property that feels stylish but soulful, contemporary but rooted—a true reflection of the city’s creative pulse.”
The redesigned spaces aim to fuse clean lines, organic textures and sculptural details that feel contemporary and timeless. The lobby includes a hand-crafted terracotta mural inspired by the Texas hillside as well as bluebonnets, a new grab-and-go marketplace and coffee bar. The space also includes custom chandeliers made of hand-blown seeded glass as a nod to native Texas dandelions.
Guestrooms have been reimagined as light-filled sanctuaries where modern simplicity meets Texas warmth, according to the company. Natural materials, neutral palettes and custom artwork are designed to evoke a sense of calm and quiet luxury.
Central to the redesign is an art program curated by Sweeney Art Advisory, which threads through every corner of the hotel with works by contemporary artists—including Jim Zhou, Alicia LaChance, and Kimberly George.
