Key Largo resort to add new suites following renovation

The Baker’s Cay Resort, a Curio Collection by Hilton property in Key Largo, Fla., has broken ground on a renovation project that will add 12 new suites. Davidson Resorts—an operating vertical of Davidson Hospitality Group—operates the hotel.

“This expansion is about more than enhancing our guest rooms, it’s about deepening the connection between our guests and this extraordinary place,” general manager John Hearns said in a statement. “We’re creating immersive spaces that honor the island’s past while offering the luxurious comfort and thoughtfulness our travelers expect.”

The new Waterview Deluxe Palm Suites, Partial Waterview Palm Suites and Deluxe Paradise Suites were inspired by the area’s maritime history, local art culture and the region's natural topography, according to the company.

The interiors will have a calming, layered palette of oceanic blues, sun-washed neutrals and driftwood-inspired tones, drawing directly from the surrounding land and sea, according to the company. Fossilized textures and reef-like finishes are designed to echo the geological history of the Keys, while sculptural, dimensional artwork and tactile materials aim to bring the natural story of Key Largo indoors.

Curated local art and design elements reflect the community. Select suites will have open layouts with natural light, with organic textures reminiscent of submerged coral landscapes.
