Laguna Beach coastal resort undergoes renovation

Redesigned guestroom suites, a new lobby and upgraded conference facilities are among the highlights of a full renovation at Surf & Sand, Laguna Beach. The resort—which is operated by JC Resorts—has been purposefully designed to celebrate and showcase one of Southern California's most picturesque stretches of coastline, according to the company. The transformation also includes the refreshed Resort Pool and Bella Vista Terrace, the debut of the Aquaterra Spa and the reimagined Splashes restaurant and bar.

"This breathtaking transformation represents a significant repositioning and reinvestment by JC Resorts into Surf & Sand, Laguna Beach," John Doane, president at JC Resorts, said in a statement. "Our exceptional location set directly on the sand, paired with our thoughtfully redesigned oceanfront spaces, accommodations, and enhanced amenities and service, provides the ideal backdrop for guests and locals to forge unforgettable memories deeply connected to the restorative power of the ocean."

The completely redesigned 165 guestrooms and suites each have a private balcony with ocean views. The resort's design transformation emphasizes coastal luxury with sunlight-soaked spaces that showcase bespoke furniture pieces, Italian marble finishes and integrated personalized technology, according to the company.

Each room has glass patio doors designed to further enhance the sense of openness and light. The redesign also highlights naturally lit bathrooms, many featuring deep-soaking bathtubs with beautiful ocean views, alongside spacious showers and luxury amenities, according to the company. Updated balcony furnishings are designed to enhance relaxation with unobstructed views of the Pacific.

The resort aims to usher in an all-new arrival experience with the unveiling of its Lobby Lounge. The refreshed design balances Classical Mediterranean architecture and the resort's Southern California oceanfront location, complemented by a personally curated collection of artwork throughout the lobby and resort spaces that showcases prominent artists, according to the company.

In addition, Surf & Sand offers 10,000 square feet of renovated indoor event space featuring natural light, complemented by an additional 10,000 square feet of outdoor venues. All of the space is overlooking the ocean.

The fully renovated Aquaterra Spa now have a new look and gives guests and locals a holistic menu of restorative treatments within eight treatment rooms, including a couple's suite. Embracing the Southern California lifestyle, the resort also features rejuvenating beach yoga sessions and other well-being experiences for the body and mind, according to the company.
