The Virginian Lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyo., has completed a complete transformation encompassing 165 all-new guestrooms and suites, a central courtyard with an all-season outdoor pool and a new lobby. Nicknamed “The Virg,” The Virginian Lodge originally opened in 1965 and is close to Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks.
New York City-based interior design team Goodrich led The Virginian’s redesign. Upon entering the Lodge’s lobby, guests are greeted by a vintage check-in counter, and a sign reading, “When you call me that, SMILE!” which pays homage to the hotel's 19th-century namesake novel. The sitting area has restored vintage furniture and wagon wheel chandeliers.
Rooms and suites have warm wood accents and midcentury furnishings. Courtyard View King rooms are near the pool and social areas, while the Bunk Adventure Camp rooms can accommodate up to eight people and have double bathrooms. On the perimeter of the property, premium suites have one- and two-bedroom configurations with living areas and kitchenettes. Every room has oversized racks for hanging and airing out clothes and sliding wooden barn doors for access into the tiled bathrooms.
The Virginian’s courtyard has gathering spots around fire pits with Adirondack chairs. Anchoring the courtyard is the all-season outdoor heated pool with mountain views and two new oversized hot tubs. The courtyard transitions seasonally, with fireside s’mores and pop-up igloos available in the winter or wine tastings and musical concerts in the summer.
The Virginian Lodge will have an all-new flexible event space, Wister Hall. Spanning 4,185 square feet, the venue is one of the largest open meeting spaces in Jackson Hole and is available for groups, demos, events and weddings. A 14-person boardroom will be available to rent for smalller meetings and private events.
New food-and-beverage concepts will be added in late spring. These will include Billy’s Burgers, The Virginian Saloon and Ginny’s Bottle Shop, a drive-through liquor store. The Virginian Restaurant is currently open.
The Virginian Lodge is the first property in the Outbound Hotels and Resorts collection.
